Cobra Mass Air

I have a 97 GT that im in the process of putting a vortech v-2 on. I have a brand new 03-04 cobra mass air sensor and was wondering if it can be used like the lightning MAF. I bought it cause i got it for a steal ($30).

and another question my rear end is nearing its end. I plan on getting 3.73 gears and if i keep this rear end its gonna need a total rebuid. But i found this and was wondering if by chance it would bolt up to my car with minimal problems or if i can get something like this for my car with gears already installed for around the same price. I had rather go with something like because there isnt any shops around here that i trust to install gears and a rebuid kit in my car. And i would also like to have a extra rear end laying around for my next project.

I'm not sure but I think the 03/04 MAF has a build in air intake temp sensor. My factory gt maf did.

So if it has an internal IAT sensor it cant be used? i thought the lightning had an internal sensor?

Some years do some dont. If yours does, I think it will be a 5 or 6 pin connection. You could still use it.

My 90 mm lightning maf didn't have the intake temp sensor built in, so I had to buy a sensor, mount it in my intake tube and rewire it.

my factory MAF has an external IAT with 4 prongs the cobra MAF only has 4 prongs so i assume they come fatory with a external IAT as well. So i geuss it wil work. Anybody got any ideas about that rear end?

You could probably rebuild you rear with better axles and differential for cheaper.

Yeah but i have a problem with trusting other peoples work around here. Most of the places around here are just out to make a dollar instead of doing it properly. But im probaly gonna try and find the most reputable shop and if they screw it up ill take it back and let em redo it. Thanks for the help on the MAF by the way.

Your quite welcome. Good luck on the rear.
