Default Self-adjusting clutch?

I heard that on the 99-04's the clutch is self adjusting. Appearently you can just put your foot under the clutch pedal and lift it up and then push the clutch down and it will self adjust.

I've tried it out many times and it doesn't seem to have done anything at all. Am I suppose to do it hard enough to hear a click or something?

Theres always been like a 1/2-1 inch slack when I lift the clutch pedal from under it but ever since just now I've been hearing a squeak... anyone know how to get rid of it?

Thanks,
Brandon

I'm honestly not sure if the 99-04's are adjustable or not, however my 96 is adjustable.
Lift the pedal as high as it will go, just as you said then push it to the floor. Repeat until it's tight.
What kind of noise is it, a 'chirp-chirp-chirp' or?

Be a little more specific if you could.

Info on clutch adjustment...

You can also download a owner's manual that explains the process...

My clutch is engaging fine and I don't think I need any "internal" adjustments... it's just that squeak is annoying sometimes when I try to do this self-adjust thing. It's just like a high pitched squeak

You mean disengaging the clutch...and yeah it's fine, but if it does not go into gear, don't force it.
