maximum motorsports, griggs, agent47, and maier racing are the only places you should be look at for open tracking. Yes the sleeved shocks/struts aren't the best design, but they have been proven to hold up to severe track abuse. I myself have put my MM bilstein coilovers through hell and they've been fine. However the bilstein shocks/struts are no longer up to the level I'd like, and will be swapping to Tokico d specs soon. Tokico and Koni shocks/struts would be the ones I'd look into. Bilsteins are no longer as great as they used to be.

The problem with sleeved coilovers is not that they would ever fall apart cause they are very strong, its that they allow alot of unwanted movement. In a drag car sleeved coilovers are fine because you just go straight, but on a road course they can cost you handeling and will be much harder to tune correctly.

As for the tuning aspect of the coilover sleeves, it is very unlikely that they will move while on the track, if all 4 corners are setup correctly there should be no time when any corner becomes unweighted enough to give the sleeve wiggle room. If you're sleeve is moving up and down through a corner, you have much different problem(i.e swaybar is too stiff)
