Default Still have wheel hop.

I had wheel hop in my car for a while now when I shift to second gear, and I thought that I would just need new shocks. Well, I bought and installed some bilstein shocks and struts. They work like a dream, but I still have wheel hop, thought it isn't slow and sloppy wheel hop, it seems like firm wheel hop. But, anyways would that be the quadshocks then? Would it be better and more economical if I were to get some lower control arms?

Any help would be appreciated.

Yeah I woul try some aftermarket LCA's, they push down on the axle and help eliminate wheel hop.

No they don't.

If you want to eliminate wheel hop then you will need upper control arms with solid ends. That is the only way to get rid of it. Lower control arms are there to transfer the force of the tires to the chassie. They don't stop wheel hop. Quad shocks only slow wheel hop they do not get rid of it.

Wheel Hop is when your car rapidly gains and loses traction. It causes a Horrible bouncing sensation in the car. It is also notorious for breaking stuff.

IMO LCA's And a Torque arm/Panhard bar setup will fix that 100%

Wheel hop is also called axle wind up. When you accelerate suddenly your pinion gear tries to climb the ring gear. By doing that it causes the axle to rotate upwards until it hits the limit of the suspension and slams back down. When is slams down it causes it to bounce back up due to the rubber bushings in stock suspension. That is where you get the hopping sensation. The quad shocks (axle dampners) slow the slamming back down motion to control wheel hop. Solid upper bushings don't allow the axle to wind up.

Honestly that could make it worse. ^

Also I would do the Poly bushings first. It'll be alot cheaper than what I suggest and if that fixes it than, great!

Wheel hop is caused more by Hard side wall tires than weak bushings. If he gets sticky tires "normally" the side wall is designed to be weaker, allowing for wrinkling which reduces wheel hop. I'm not saying to not get LCA (uppers don't do ****) just that I would start with tires.

I had horrible wheel hop till I got my Drag Radials and now I have none. And I pulled 11.98 with stock control arms and quads.

You are confusing wheel hop with no traction. Wheel hop has nothing to do with the tires. You can run slicks and if you still have the rubber bushings can still have wheel hop. Learn alittle about the mustangs 4 link rear suspension and you will see how the upper control arms play the biggest part in stopping wheel hop. If you were to upgrade the uppers using spherical rod ends but still use stock everything else including tire you will have no wheel hop.
