Default 3V motor in a New Edge?

just out of curiosity..could you buy a turn-key 3V from FR and put it in a new edge without much modification to anything?

Variable valve timing might be an issue.

They sell a piece that locks that cams so you can do the swap. I forget who makes it but I saw it in a recent issue of 5.0.

Yep... I would wonder if you can adapt the 2V harness to work with the variable valve timing. I know the computer has the option.

Engine mounts and drive by wire might give you trouble.

The block is the same so engine mounts shouldn't be an issue, assuming he uses the mounts from his old motor. The TB will have to be replaced with a standard TB.

logan has a little conversion kit, you would have to swap the computer to keep the vvt - which is one of the best parts of a 3v. The TB has to be changed out - logan has that adapter to hook up an older one. If your going to gut the car than using the newer computer and all may not be to bad, but I would think that trying to integrate that with the older stuff would be a nightmare. Most people get the adjustable cam gears and keep the 2v computer... in which case you might as well do a 4v

Never thought about the variable valve and such.
What would be the "easiest", best bang for the buck turn-key motor to buy for a New Edge? Wouldn't be looking for anything outrageous, but something with more pop than the 2V motor.

find a donor car. with not so common swap, at least not yet, you never know what you are going to need.
