I'd just search for the lowest mileage 96-98, or 99-0X GT that you can find.

Since it's still going to be your DD, I'd make finding lower mileage your main concern.

Stock vs stock the two cars are going to be within a tenth or two at the strip, but start adding modifications and the Cobras gonna start pulling up high. I just got my 99 GT with gears, midpipe, and catback into the 13.6's, but I've seen equally modded 96-98 Cobras run 13.3s on occasion.

About 260rwhp.

But that respond better to mods than a PI GT.

alright cool...now the trick is to find one in my price range with decent miles. thats the only good thing about my GT...only 52000 miles

what would a full exhaust, jlt cai, t body, ud pullies, and a jet or sct chip give the cobra at the wheels along with 3.73 and an aluminum driveshaft and a good dyno tune?
