i am thinking about buying a new mustang and was wondering what would be the best route to go and most potential. I have $8500 to $9000 to spend which isn't a lot

You still could find yourself a good 99+ gt with your budget. You just have to be patient. OR you can get something older 87 - 93 mustang. With your budget you could find something in really nice condition. And Mods are a bit cheaper.

I may consider a fox or a SN-95 with a 5.0 in it and then throw a 351 at it.

Also you may be able to find a 99 cobra for about 9.5-10K

Find a 96-98 Cobra and spend the rest on mods

+1 on a cobra. you might even be able to find a 99-01 cobra if youre willing to may 9-10k. if not there are plenty of Gt's and 96-98 cobra's for that prices range. as well as 5.0's and stuff. maybe even a mach 1 if you lucky
