Default Good weekend for the 02 Vert

I bought a set of FoMoCo Mustang all weather floormats off of Ebay Friday at lunch. At 0830 Saturday morning the FedEx man was honking at my gate. Sweet.

Then while perusing the 'how to' section I ran across the post to disable the seatbelt warning chime. Did it. Even Sweeter. No more annoying 'dingdingdingdingding'.

While further reading the 'how to' section I came across the post about taking up the slack in the throttle cable. Sweetness and light.
I used two ferral nuts as opposed to the posters nylon tubing. I figured it would be more crush resistant. It drives like a whole new car and much for the better. If you have not performed this upgrade then I seriously suggest you do it. You are leaving a lot of pep on the table with the factory cable because it is so sloppy. .

It had been a while since I had the chance to spend any quality time with the '02 as I have been working on the 67 so it was long overdue and those simple upgrades have made the car just that much nicer.

I really do enjoy this site.

And I've been thinking about doing the throttle cable mod but doesn't it stretch the cable out after awhile?

My bad Frogger. It wasn't in the how-to section it was from a post a couple of days ago.

CliffyK posted this link that had the how-to on the seat belt warning disable. Here it is.

https://www.fleet.ford.com/maintenan...ls/default.asp

Go to page 111. It works just like the instructions say.

As far as stretching the throttle cable out I hadn't thought of that. If it does then I guess I will replace the cable then because it is just that sweet without the slop.

I didn't make mine insanely tight. When the pedal is at rest there is about 1/4" of slack in the pedal. Much better than the 1"+ that is in there from the factory but not stupid tight.
