But he sold only full cat-back systems.

The local muffler shop is going to put a pair of weld-in Magnaflows for $280 installed. His distributor told him that this was a common problem with Flowmaster 40s and that the Magnaflows would take car of the problem.
I recently purchased a 2001 Mustang GT convertible. It looks almost exactly like the one pictured two posts up (Mineral Grey Metallic, very pretty). A previous owner had welded in a pair of Flowmasters. It was kinda neat driving around town, turning heads, but out on the highway it was close to torture. The local muffler shop offered me two options, a pair of used OEM mufflers for $100 installed, or a pair of new Magnaflows for $315 installed (slightly more than what you were quoted ($280), but close). I opted for the used OEM mufflers, and so far I am happy with my choice. Driving around town, I sometimes kinda wish it were a little louder, but when I take it out on the highway, I am VERY happy to be rid of that horrible drone.

Are the Magnaflow magnapacks just as loud as the Flowmaster 40's and SLPs?

Default Exhaust

Steeda exhaust is really good but a bit expensive. That's why i put on SLP loud mouth cat-back with an off road H pipe. I kept the headers stock. The car sounds great and no drone!

No, SLP loud mouth 1 is the loudest cat-back on the market. My friend and i both have mac O/R H pipes with SLP loud mouth 1 cat-back. This set up usually puts away most other cars, unless they have long tube headers or something on their car.

haha my threads back from the dead. I'll be going with the steeda exhaust. Expensive, but it's worth it. Looks good too.

Funny this is actually alive again.. A very hot girl was driving the stang last night and she said it was rough/loud... Bitch haha

i have flowstoppers

if its too loud, youre too old

my next exhaust setup with the new motor is going to be hooker headers to an o/r x pipe, then right at the end of the x pipe ill be putting in dynomax bullets and dumping it after those some where around the rear seats...of course its going to be a mostly track car
