Default Floppy Clutch on 03 GT (+pic)

I just got this car a few days ago and I have noticed that the first 25% of the clutch travel is, well, nothing. It just kind of flops with very little resistance until the end of that 25%. After that, it feels like a stock clutch.

Will lifting the pedal until I hear that click fix this? I haven't done it yet and don't want to screw something up.

Also, the tranny whines. Why is that? I've never heard that on Mustangs before. And when I say whine, that's exactly what I mean. You can barly hear it over the exhaust, but it's there.

And pics, because I know someone will ask

First off i want to say, I hate you for the color of your car. haha (wish i had one)

My transimission whined, kinda sounds like a superchared car at idle all the way through the gears?

My pedal was the same way too, no engagment for the first 4-5 inches from the floorboard. I wouldnt worry about it unless.......

How many miles do you have on the car?

The T-45's are notorious for the whining.. you are just hearing a Ford tranny hard at work my friend.

And you can adjust that clutch, someone want to pull a how-to? I can't find one.

60,000. What's on your mind?

And I'm certainly no stranger to Ford's quirks That car rattles in places that will take me months to find and shut up!! If the tranny sounds like a super charger naturally, that's fine. I just want to ensure nothing is wrong with it.

He doesn't have the T-45... To the OP, adjusting the clutch pedel is as easy at stated before; just pull up on the pedel. The factory adjuster is less than desireable and is a popular upgrade. Nice choice of colors and I'm glad you bought another Stang. I can't wait to get another!

Trickdriller-yeah you have the TR3650 transmission and mine whines a little not real loud but I don't see anything wrong with that. At your mileage you might as well drain and refill your trans fluid for good measure.

Yes sorry.. 99 and 00 have the T-45.. my mistake

Drain your tranny fluid:

Unbolt the bottom, drain it into a pan. Leave it to drain for 10 mins.

Unbolt the top, buy fluid pump, put tranny fluid into a large container, and pump the fluid in through the top until it starts pouring out of the top hole.

Let it settle for 10 minutes (draining any small excess)

Bolt it back up tight and you are set.

Yeah, that's kinda what I was thinking I should do. I am taking it back to the dealership I bought it from tomorrow. I am going to have their techs look over everything because I know the syncros are gone in 1st-3rd gear. 3rd isn't as bad, but they're going. If they tell me I'm right, the dealership is paying to replace them And if they do that, they'll be replacing the fluid anyway

Thanks for the compliments on the color! I lucked out with that color. I paid a bit too much for it, but it was worth it to get that color combo.
