Oh no not again...

I would not suggest not installing a stroker kit at all. If you really want to go larger than the standard 4.6L go with a big bore.

if you want a stroker that bad, i'd get a 94-95 5.0, and throw in a 347 or 408 stroker.

I personally have a 4.6 to 5.0 modular stroker, and i wish i never got it and invested the money elsewhere

You could build up the bottom end with some H-beam rods, a forged crank and forged pistons...you could get an aluminum 4.6 block...a 5.4 swap is pretty involved and would need several modifications...there are several members on here who have done it or are doing it (including myself) so you should be able to get some good advice if you go that route...I'm a 2-valve fan but you could get a set of 4-valve heads...I'm also pro-stroker and pro 5.4 but my advice to you is to consider how much you're gonna pay for a beefed up 4.6 bottom end (or what you'll pay to build a 5.4) and compare it to a stroker build up...I'm not trying to start another debate on this subject but if the difference in cost between the three is identical or close, then make your choice on what you want and go from there...

stevecooper, if you would NOT SUGGEST NOT installing a stroker kit at all, then does that mean you WOULD suggest installing a stroker...haha, just effing with ya but you might need to edit your message bro...BTW, the dyno numbers you posted, were they with the 281 or the 6L stroker...?? And if they are with the 281, then what did you make with the 6L...??

haha double negative oops

The dyno numbers are with a standard bore 4.6 281. The 6L stroker 2V with the truck intake is a joke.

2v heads on a stroker or a 5.4 is a complete waste of time and money. If anything put the money into a bigbore or 4v heads.

For the OP what all do you have done since you say you have ran out of things to bolt on.

Yea 2V heads suck man...they're better off on the side of the road on garbage day...they couldn't possibly dream of handling even a mere 281 ci...you would never EVER be able to get more than 315 hp on a fully built highly modded N/A engine if it had 2V heads no matter what size the engine is...if you threw a blower on at 10 lbs and a 100 hit of nitrous then you might be able to get MAYBE a solid 400-450 hp (at the crank) but dont get your hopes up on that...2v heads on ANYTHING is an utterly complete and total waste of time, money and metal...

Ok, no offense, I'm just playing and being sarcastic...but seriously I'm all for the 2V and I think they have lots of potential...I had many chances to change to 4V heads and I chose not to...thats my PERSONAL opinion and like I said, it's up to you once you consider the cost and your own desire...hey mustangman do you have a 2V or 4V and what mods do you have (if you don't mind my asking)...?? And maybe someone can answer this for me, technically aren't pushrod motors also 2V (technically)...?? I mean I know all the differences between a pushrod and an OHC engine but pushrods do have 2V per cylinder right...??
