does your state actually gauge the emissions or do they just use your OBDII?....basically do they actually hook up a hose to the pipes or do they just hook up a cable underneath your steering wheel?

IF they do the real emissions I doubt that a good high flow would pass to be honest. I know that in Vegas that would not cut it. Any 'real' cat is going to distort the sound quite a bit from an OR pipe. IF they just look underneath it, get ya the fake one, but unless it is a straight through design, it is also going to distort the sound like an added empty muffler (becasue it is going to be an empty chamber that the exhaust is going to bounce around in) but not as bad.

I have Pypes high flow cats. My X Pipe came as an off road package, and I had to cut the pipes to allow my cats.
I havn't yet tested my car (I'm a licensed emissions inspector in Ontario, Canada) so I'm thinking today I'll run a Manual Gas test and figure out what my numbers actually are. I know what my readings of NOx, CO, CO2 and HC's were with the stock exhaust, so I'll let you guys know what changes have taken effect after these high flows.

As for my sound, they sound as if they're straight pipe; I'm very happy. The company advertised as flowing just a few CFM under straight pipes, yet still emissions legal.
