Shorty Headers or TB and Plenum???
#11
yeah, definitely dont waste ur time and money on shorties. if youre gonna get headers go with LT's but theyre gonna cost a bit more. if you dont want to spend that much, pick yourself up a set of 4.10's. you'll get way more of a kick from gears than a TB and plenum and they're both in the same price range.

Yes indeed LT's make you lose low end power but if that doesn't bother you go for it! . I'm not leaning in either direction, headers is going to be last on my list because from what I have read on this site, some guys who are boosted after installing LT's only gained 9whp, that's alot of money for 9whp. However when the time comes to purchase headers I will be undecided, the stock headers flow pretty well as is. For you I would just get TB/Plenum combo if your looking to do something your self, also I would look into professional products brand pretty cheap and I have had it on my car for over a year with no issues. But if you want a mod thats going to wake up your pony then gears is the right choice for you, 4.10's all the way baby! Good Luck!

Neither. Like 10 other people have said, do gears. If you can't afford gears yet, save until you can. Don't waste on TB and plenum. 4.10's with speedo calibrator and fluid=289
install kit (shims, etc) might run you 75. labor..probably 300. it's about a 700 mod in total.

If you look at a stock exhaust manifold and then at equal length shorties, I'm surprised there aren't more gains than people claim. I'd guess 5-6 rwhp at least.
I only have a CAI and exhaust, I've contemplated a TB+Plenum but have heard for near stock cars, it's not worth it.

yea i have been wanting gears for a while now but really can't find a good shop to do them. I have read that many people have gone to shops they thought were good but had problems with the install. Would 4.10s be good for my daily driver auto?

the gears install total will prob run you as much as LT's im not gonna say one is better than the other but for "feeling" what you just bought gears are the way to go. Some say your mpg in the city and highway switch but i duno if i believe that, but simply there isn't that much of a difference though.
