Default Radio Removal

I posted this last night right before MF's crashed and it didn't go through so here we go again.

My cd player got jammed the other day. It almost ejected the disc but got stuck. I tried to reload it but it said slot full. So I tried to eject it but it said error. I was able to get the cd out with a credit card. How,....

Can someone please tell me how to remove the stock radio so I don't wind up getting pissed off and take it out on my POS car.

Thanks much.

Are you still having problems or have you figured it out?

remove the shifter bezel. then the trim around the radio and disconnect the defrost,t/c power port and fog lamp switch. there should be 4 screws holding the radio in. I believe there a 8 or 7mm.

Thanks for the advise. Yes I'm still having the problem. You know what caused it, I had a cd in there that had a label on it. The type that you create using your computer. It had gotten stuck once before. I should've learned my lesson the first time. Maybe I can remove my radio this weekend and fix it.

labeled cd's and for 6 disc changers don't mix. Although i hate to say it but those 6 disc changers suck. At work i can't tell how many we've sent out for repair becuase the disc changer is broken or jammed. I'm glad my car has a single disc cd player.

So its a common problem...Thanks for your help. I hope I can fix it myself this weekend. I'm pretty good with electronics so. I'd look into buying a better aftermarket one but thats $$$$ I could use to make my car FASTER..

dont you need the special u-tool to get the stock radio out by releasing pressure on the springs?

from 01 on up the radios are bolted in. They have the double din radios. And the older stangs that have the single din radios use the u-pins to removal.
