Default i need some help with slight ticking

in my 98 mustang gt, i hear a ticking noise coming from what sound like right near the headers. it only occurs from idle to about 1500 RPM and goes away... the more i rev, the more it fades. any ideas or ways i can check what it is? thank you in advance

Take a piece of hose (3/4" heater hose works well) and hold one end up to your ear and move the other end around the engine compartment. You most likely have an exhaust leak, if you hear it near the headers.

Have you recently installed aftermarket headers?
