I know that this is an old thread, but do you remember what valve was causing the AC to blow through the defrost when you accelerated? I have a 99 Ford Ranger that does the same thing. I looked for a vacuum leak under the hood as suggested in the Ranger forums but couldn't find anything. I also checked the Vacuum reservoir. I tried to look at the vacuum actuators for the vents but had a hard time findong them.
