Thanks again Fellas. I think the old gasket is stuck to the pipe I took off. Its hard to tell, but it looks like some sort of silver colored ring around the flange. At any rate, I looked around and found the gasket you guys are talking about. Advance has it for $5.85 I'm going to run over there as soon as they open and grab it.

I made sure the cats have the flat side towards the ground and pushed them up as far as I could. The clearance looks pretty good, but you can see where the guy that had them before me bottomed them out against the pavement quite a few times. The cats are fine, its just the outer shell thats gouged.

Yeah if the car is lowered much more than 1" (like mine) I could see a lot of people bottoming them out.

Wellll, I got the new gasket in. All good on that side now. The original one was in there, it was just in there sideways! And now it is leaking somewhere on the driver side. Probably just didn't tighten one of the clamps tight enough, or may need to retighten the manifold/pipe connection on the driver side.

One thing that I noticed though was that the car surged a few times after the install. It was very apparent. Any ideas?

not sure on the surging, i would say make sure all you elect connection are good. as for the exh leak. the first time i install an x pipe, a bbk, on my gt the exh manifold bolts were so tight, that when i took them off, the driver side studs had back out some along with the bolt, just enough to cause a leak that i couldnt find, i check all bolts over and over for about a month be i said f*ck it. i found it when i installed my lt headers and remove the entire system again. this time, about 2 hrs ago, i check the stud on my cobra, b/c the bolts once again did not want to come out. i went a pypes o/r x pipe with magna flow catback for the snake. sounds great.

I don't have the rear O2 sensors hooked up yet because I forgot to order extensions, so the surging may possibly be from that? CEL came on immediately.

I'll re-do that manifold. At least its on the drivers side!

no o2 sensors will definitely be the culprit.
good luck
