But why start with so much less....You'll be 60hp in the hole and Mod motors aren't the back yard 5.oh's like back in the day. Comparability, It takes a lot of money to get these things to Eat, Breathe and **** Ozone killing Horsepower.

^ Well why did you buy a 1996 GT then sxynerd? Was it already modded or something or did you just make the same mistake I did by not knowing that 2v mod motors sucked without deep pockets? If I knew the npi stuff I would of never bought the car, because power is what mattered to me, not really much else. If I knew I would of never gotten any crappy 2v GT, npi or pi. I would of gone 5.0, 4.6 cobra, or LS1, but I was a stupid 15yr old at the time

I was a moron uninformed buyer... I would have just bought a Cobra or would just gotten a Terminator instead I paid 10 grand for an 10 year old car that happened to be the lowest Hp v8 mustangs ever made. I was a fool when I bought my car. All I knew was I wanted a convertible, I liked this body style and I thought all mustangs were about the same. Boy, was I wrong.

I dyno'd at 187rwhp with exhaust and intake. 15.7 @ 84MPH and was beat down the 1/4 by a V6 Grand Am frequently. I make the joke that My nova that I drove previously to the mustang was a 12.5 car on 6 out of 8 cylinders.

I don't car how good a car looks, if a grand am beast you down the track you should go home in shame....

I was relatively uninformed... I knew that the 99s were PI and that they made a good 35 hp more than the previous SN95's, but I was not aware of how poorly they responded to 'bolt ons'. I'm not big on having a super fast car right now because of cash, but having read and learned that blowers or juice was the only way to be faster than a lot of LS1's, I became dissappointed.

But then again, 13.6 is not terrible for a 230 whp car

stick with your 4.6 the 96-98 GT's suffer from poor PI
