IDK.......I love my TriAx when Im really pushing the unit and banging through the gears..............its impossible to miss third now.

At the same time, for pedestrial driving, a short throw shifter sucks..........I dont care what anybody says. Stock is much more comfortable for just cruising around town. At least twith the TriAx, you have to force the handle through the gears because it is so notchy...............but thats the tradeoff with a performance shifter.

"I dont care what anybody says. Stock is much more comfortable for just cruising around town."

When I got my '03 GT, after driving supercharged Miatas for 8 years, the very first thing that had to go was that rubbery monkey-motion OEM shifter. In the Miata the stock shifter shifter only moved 1-3/4" between neutral and any gear, my modified shifter was less than 1-1/4".

By comparison the stock shifter in the Mustang felt like I was shifting with a toilet plunger! The MGW is a pleasure around town, flicking it from gear-to-gear makes me smile each time I shift...

Yea Cliffy, but I can see where he's coming from. I've driven my dad's Honda Accord and the stock shifter he has (his car is entirely stock, obviously) is actually pretty comfortable for around town. I have tried power shifting his car however for laughs, and I ground up third, it was awful sounding. (ENNNNGHHHHHHKKKKKKK) hah

I just don't like the metallic like feel that comes from my short throw, or the light grinding and occasional whining that comes from it, lol.

I guess I've spent too much of my life driving performance cars. I like seeing, hearing, and feeling the machinery...

Everyone is forgetting about one of the leader shifter companies. HURST!!!!! I love my Husrt shifter. It shifts as smooth as my stock shifter but with the benfits of short throw. I love it and wouldnt trade it for the world!

My brother-n-law has the Hurst shifter in his '06 GT and I must say I don't like it at all... the short distance between gears is cool but you gotta put a lotta effort behind it to clunk it through the gears..
