Default 1st Mod for my Cobra?

I have about $550 saved up and i want to get somthing for my car. I was looking into an O/R mid pipe but i read the article at mustangexhaust.com on how the O/R X, and H showed really no gains for my particular car. They said they did a dyno on some magnaflow mufflers and gained 15 rwhp throughout the entire band, and that the most resrictive part of my car was the mufflers? I was thinkiong about getting some 4.10's and some mufflers, good start? or waste of money?

I think you misunderstood the article or whoever wrote it had the wrong idea.

Stock mufflers on Mustangs aren't all that restrictive to begin with, of course there is major room for improvement, but all the restriction lies in your headers & mid-pipe with those nasty cats and small pipe.

yea thats what i thought on my old stang i had an O/R pipe and i liked it. They have a dyno graph and everything. With an O/R pipe it lost a few hp on the low end. Check out the article if you havent already http://64.177.72.121/forums/showthread.php?t=3518 (see if that works) It basically said the 2 1/2 inch pipe is too big for low end power and there are minimal gains in top end for either pipe. I dont know if the article is accurate, its probably differerent for every car.

?? That article clearly states power was increased throughout the power band aside from down low?

Don't get confused, it's not ALL about peak HP...

what you should also look into is changing the size of the pully on your stock blower. get a ton more power that way.
