Are you looking for more fun and seat of the pants pull or racing?

If you don't plan to do some serious suspension and tire mods for the track, but plan on having big power form a supercharger or the like, I would probably say people are sending you on the right path with 3.73's. '

If you plan on keeping it N/A or maybe a small shot of nitrous, 4.10's are going to be the most fun.

If you plan on doing a good amount of suspension mods and having good tires before you hit the strip, I say just go all out with the 4.10's no need to skimp on gears if your car can get the traction it needs.

If you plan on quarter mile racing and plan on getting a supercharger, I would not recommend anything lower than 3.73. I have read several posts from guys who are taking the 4.10s out and putting 3.73s in. They say they are running out of gear before the finish line. Meaning they are redlining in fourth before they get to the finish line and you don't want to finish the race in overdrive.

I have alse seen reports of a 2 mpg loss. To most guys that's insignificant but if you drive a lot it could add up.
