If maintenance has been performed like it should then you don't need to be afraid of miles on Ford Modular motors. FoMoCo really did their homework on these babies and when you take care of them they are as reliable as an anvil. Have a trusted mechanic check it out for you. That's cheap money comparatively speaking.

As far as the rest of the car goes, it's a Ford. Take care of it and it will take care of you.

Neglect and abuse it and it will bust a Blue Oval off so deep in your *** that you'll be able to see the Ford script when you open your mouth and say 'ahhhhhh'.
