Default JLT Products

Hi all,

I was going to get a JLT Cold Air Kit, but while on their web site I saw the Ram Air kit. Besides what’s obvious by the pictures what’s the difference? Is there a difference depending on the application?

Also originally I was going to get an Accufab 70MM 4.6L 2V Plenum & Throttle Body. Then for the money I thought the Prof. Products. Now I see the JLT and thought it might be better to stay with all the same line. Any opinions or experience with the JLT TB&P?

Thanks
Jon

The ram air kit places the air filter directly behind your passenger's side headlight. Some people claim better gains with the RAI just because you can remove your headlight at the track for a true ram air effect. It's also obviously much cheaper. I had a JLT CAI on my GT and honestly didn't even notice a difference. It just looked cool.

I don't have much experience with TB's, just that there's a lot of mixed opinions on upgrading one on an otherwise basically stock car.

No matter what one you get you will be happy with the product, but not impressed with the HP gained. JLT makes a great product. Don't waste your money on the Accufab unless you want a gorgeous engine bay, the PP gets the job done for less.

Im runing fenderwell JLT Intake and im very happy with the performance .It looks and performs great. Only problem with JLT is that the MAF is in the fenderweel you have to rip it out off the engine bay and push it down to connect it. No biggie

I have only heard great things about JLT products. I have a CAI from another company and did not notice any difference in performance or HP gain.

Save your money on all of that crap and get a conical air filter for your stock intake or an ebay 50.00 intake.

Other than to have a lower cost alternative I have no idea what JLT makes the "ram air" kit.

Beyond the fact that it's really a HAI there's no way there would be any sort of "ram air" effect under the hood, headlight in or out. Even real ram air intakes are mostly eye-wash...
