Default Optima Battery on an 03gt

I used the search function and looked on optima's website and it looks like they dont make a battery that fits a 99-04 GT. i know many of you have an optima battery, so my question is what model do you have that fits without modifying anything? i dont have a crazy soundsystem but i like the idea of putting in an optima and not having to worry about anything.

The only battery you would probably use would be a red top. Yellop tops are good when you have that "crazy sound system". I never really paid attention but my neighbor down the street has a red top is his gt.

I gotta chime in here and say that I will not buy another Optima battery.

I bought a redtop Optima for my the fastback. I usually only drive it a few times a month so it is not unusual for it to sit idle for weeks or more on end. But when I do want to take her out, damnit, I want it to start. Now.

The only draw I have on my car when it is off is a factory dash clock with a quartz conversion.

Long story short, battery was returned 3 times within the 12 month warranty to Autozone. The batteries were dead. Every one of them. Anytime the fastback sat for more than 2 weeks without starting, it was even money whether or not it would be dead or even take a charge. It was guaranteed to at least need a jump.

That pissed me off. Finally decide to take the old gal out, get all hyped up, hit the key only to be greeted with a pathetic, "rrrurunrrrrunclickclickclick."

I bought a good NAPA battery for about 75.00 and that car has been known to sit idle for a couple months without being so much as started and that battery is still good two years on with no more load on it than the Optima had.

If they can't keep my dashclock humming for more than a couple weeks at a throw then I am not getting good value for dollar.

I have better things to do.

I like my red top. Never had any issues with it. It was night and day compared to the ford battery that was in it. It turns the engine over like nothin. Starts the car in less than a second. Great battery in my opinion. Maybe that autozone was selling bunk batteries. Idk.

I've been running a yellow top in my 2000 GT for well over a year. It fit perfectly. My old battery had left me stranded miles from home. I just asked Autozone for the best battery they had. (I hate being stranded.)

Edit: My mistake, I have a Duralast battery not an Optima.
