Default What differential to go with?

I'm getting ready to build up my rear end and I'm trying to decide what differential to go with. I was looking at the Termi 31 spline trac-loc's (FORD RACING # M-4204-F318C) for around $250, but I'm not exactly sure how strong they are. Anyone know what kind of power these things can hold with slicks? Just trying to see if I can use this unit or if I need to step up to something like an Auburn.

Right now the plan within the next month is:

FRPP 4.10's
FRPP 31 spline 8.8" from Terminator
Moser 31 spline axles
differential girdle
Royal Purple fluid

I have had success with auburn, eaton, arb, and powertrax. my favorite, but pricey is the auburn ECTED. it's the best thing out in my opinion. it's tough, quiet and fully lockable. i think eaton also has a new diff that is supposed to be the auburn ECTED competition. good luck and keep us posted.

Anyone else have experience with these FRPP traction-locks? I also like how they are rebuildable for about $80 if I do break it.

That would be a good upgrade! You can get them a little cheaper here. http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/...0%201&comp=LRS

Thanks man. That's the best I've seen yet. Looks like I'm gonna go with the FRPP diff.

Andy13186, he basically said he knows many people that run them, even a 5.0 with slicks and a 250 shot!!
