Mobil 10W-30

I was given a case of 10W-30 Mobil 1 engine oil. I was wondering if it is going to be alright for my 4.6L pony with 40000 miles on it. Any help appreciated ! :)

probably be ok but i always use 5w-20 like ford wants because of the tight tolerances, may not hurt but sure not going to help.sell it for lunch money

thx for your response ... still not sure wheter I wanna use it tough :( next time I`m gonna tell them to get 5w-30, they just thought the higher numbers on a label the better :) can`t blame them ..

10w-30 would be good in higher temps.........in places like northern maine and alaska a lot of people use 0W-20

Ford made the switch from 5w30 to 5w20 in the 2001 model line up. The reason is they found that using 5w20 increased mileage. 10w30 would not hurt anything but you might want to stick with 5w20 just to be consistent.
