So you bought a car that had a check engine light on? This doesn't make much since.

BTW, your gonna take a beating on that V6 when ya sell it.
Well yes I did. It's a matter of affordalbility here, not quality. Next year I am responsible for the entire cost of the car, and insurance. I don't like the idea of paying $850 a month for a v6. I would have to work my butt off and have nothing else to show for it. The Gt convert was only $11,000. Theres 60,000 miles on it as well. I got a bumper to bumper warranty as well.

Someone will be taking over the payments on the V6, we have a couple people who are interested right now.

Thanks for the info Acer. After paying closer attention, it is much quieter, and less rapid, at lower speeds. At around 35, it's faint, but at 70-80 on the interstate it is really loud, and much more rapid. It seems to not matter how much gas I give it. If I am going at a certain speed and give it a little more gas, just to where you can hear the motor better (higher RPM), that doesn't make the sound any louder. So header leak most likely?

That is, if your car has headers, does it?

Nothing has been done to the car, so i guess no headers. Hmm...

As far as an exhaust leak goes, exhaust manifolds and headers are the same damn thing.

That COULD be it, but it should depend on engine RPM rather than speed.

Hmm, well it changes on speed, rpm doesn't effect it. Tomorrow I am going to take it to the Ford place and have them check it out. I'm just going to hope someone knows what they are doing.

The same thing?.really, then how do you explain the HP gains when you swap the flow restrictive stock manifilds for headers......

Ooops... I typed intake instead of exhaust.

Alright, buddy, you seem to have it in for me, so I will simply have to point out that I said:

Hence I explained the context of my comment. If you would like me to further explain, please PM me and stop bickering on this man's thread.

An exhaust manifold, just like a header, takes burnt air/gas from your heads and merges all the cylinders before exiting into the mid-pipe. Do they both not do that? Don't they both bolt to the heads and mid-pipe? Don't they both have the capability to leak?

Exactly.

Why are you worried about it then? Take it back, tell them to fix the dammed C/E light, and the noise.

No way a reputable dealership should EVER let a car off the lot with a check engine light already glowing. I would be worried if I were you.
