7 quarts in a stock GT pan
#13
next time...a full 7qts, you have inspired me.
Ive never really thought about it, i just never wanted the crank to run through it and the manual say 6qts, so i figured 7 would be close...next time though...next time

My fill level has always varied. At times, I've only been able to get ~5.5 qts in before the dipstick shows full after having been run, and others it's been almost a full 7 just to get to the full mark.
On average, I put 6.5 in, manual says 6. This is just to get it to the full mark. I always run a motorcraft oil filter because of the anti-drainback valve they include. Due to autocross and other varied types of racing, I'd prefer to keep the level away from the crank and rods. I'll get a windage tray when I rebuild it, but this motor is doing extremely well. ~60-70k miles and still doesn't lose a DROP of oil.
I'm due for another change here soon, put some cheap motorcraft oil in about 1000 ago to carry me over till winter shows up, Mobil1 is going in again next time, we'll see.
