Default idle and ticking issue

I have a 2001 mustang gt convertible. It tends at a stop light every now and then drop from 600rpm's to 400rpm's. Almost to a stall!!! All that is done to the car is a cold air intake (UPR). Any suggestions

Also I have a little tick in the motor when it starts. and it will do it constantly until the car warms up. I pulled the valve cover and the timing chain was not loose. So i was wondering if it could be a valve spring. The car feels like its lost power so i was thinking it could be a bent valve???? I could be totally wrong?

PLEASE HELP

Compression Check would be the first thing i would do. Also, this seems dumb... but check the CAI and make sure it is tight. Mine made a ticking noise for a bit till i notice it was loose after the install.

Put a screwdriver up to one of your fuel injectors and then put the other end up to your ear. Your injectors might be making the noise. I'm about 99% sure my ticking noise is from the injectors. Try that before you do anything else. Good luck man
