Default Seat belt stuck dealer wants $300 need help!!!!!!

Hi I have a 1998 Mustang GT convertible

Passenger belt stuck at floor mount and will not release.

Dealer wants to rape me with a $300 part cost.

Anybody know if there is an quick release or emergency release?

Is there a way I can take this unit apart to unwind and release?

I need to fix this if possible and looking for any inputs!

Thanks for your time!

+1 on the junkyard. Screw that 300 bill and they wonder why the dealers go out of business.

deffinatly look around at junk yards or even ebay and craigslist. Also check out ford parts.com i just looked up your car and you can get the seat belt and buckle for just over a 100 bucks.

Like said already take panels off and see if you can get it to go back in. One of my rears did that once I took all the panels off started messing with it and all of a sudden it started working again. I have no Idea what I did

Sounds like the internals have seized in it. Probably not a lot you can do about that, even if you did dismantle it. Just grab a new one from 50resto or like everyone else said, Junkyard.
