That means the car has a large reserve so ppl don't run out of gas.

My gauge works just fine. I have noticed the odd fuel level issue though. I never let it go below 1/4 so i cant speak about filling up on E and only getting 10gals in. I would suspect its a fuel level mechanism issue from the factory.

Yeah I only get about 200 to a tank as well. My gauge stays at full for the first 50 miles though

that wierd cause sometimes ill be at 50 miles and ill be at like a little less that 3/4 but then as i got farther down the guage the more miles seem to add up. so its really just about the large reserve that makes it seem that way?

mine works fine BUT, if you park facing up a slope it will read lower than what you actually have when you start it back up

Mine does this almost every time I fill up now. I was gonna start a thread about it but maybe somebody can help me out. Probably 75% of the time I fill up now my gauge drops all the way down as if it were turned off. Shortly after the check engine light comes on. It usually stays this way for a day or so then goes back to normal. I took it to a local shop because of the engine light, he hooked it up and said nothing was wrong so I just ignore it, but its aggervating. My gauge is also off a little only sometimesbut thats not a big deal.

woudn't it be down slope? i only say this cuz i park in my friends drive way almost everyday and in my impala the gas goes way down, but if i park it up slope the gas goes up..

but to op: i to get really crappy gas mileage, so im hoping that its my fuel gage reading it wrong, i duno..

It's either a large reserve or as someone else just said the way ford programmed it. In any case, I am sure it was purposely done to prevent people from getting stranded and looking like an *** from running out of gas.

well i usually sit in my car for a few minutes after i get home and the low fuel light would pop on if i have <1/4 tank. this is with the car on an incline
