Default What does a predator do?

I just recently bought a diablo sport predator tuner and I have a few questions.

1) I have long tubes, a CAI, a high flow x- pipe, and a Borla exhaust. I plugged in the predator and I pressed the 87 octane tune. After turning on and off my car (not completely on) it finally uploaded. What exactly did it do? I noticed that it turned off my check engine light that I've had since I got my long tubes and high flow X installed simultaneously. Is the tune making use of my mods? I'm insanely curious and anyone's help is greatly appreciated.

I know it programs but I just don't know in detail. My main question is what does the 87octane tune do and does it consider my mods that I have already?

Bascially you just tweeked your car a bit for more power. But 87 octane is pretty low, you should try running premium (91/93 whatever it is in your state) and tuning the car for that accordingly. It will advance your igition timing and give you some more power. As far as your check engine light turning off, do you mean high flow X pipe as in offroad/no cats? cause it will turn it off if you are running without cats.

Not sure what kind of mustang you have and what tranny but if you have an automatic then you can also get your shift pointed adjusted for some extra kick

And if you have a 99+ (I think) and later on get gears, you can use the tuner to recalibrate your speedometer.

Just some things you can do with it....

Not to hijack the thread, but can you upload custom tunes on the predator like you can the SCT?

I have a 03 GT manual transmittion. I have high flow X-pipes that have cats still on them. When the predator was connected and I started uploading the tune did the predator take into consideration what mods I already had? Also, what exactly did it modify?
