Default Caliper Mounting to axle

Does anybody happen to know what the name of the piece that the brake caliper mount mounts to on the axle? It looks as if it is separate from the axle itself, connecting with four bolts behind the axle shaft. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

haven't looked at it in a while but doesn't it just attach to the hub?

The caliper attaches to the brake caliper bracket which is only held to the axle by 2 extremely locktighted bolts.
