IAC usually lets the car die out.

2 minutes is enough to 'reset' the computer, not 2 hours.

If the iac is bad it will die out, if its dirty the rpms will hang then drop slow, and 2 mins in NOT eneough, newer cars have a small "reserve battery" inside the ecu that will hold the cars "info" incase u have to swap a battery it wont reset everything, 10 mins is good, if your clock on your radio is reset when you connect your battery back up then its been long eneough.
