Default Need advice on buying ASAP

Hi guys i'm new here and i was needing some advice, i'm looking at a 2000 mustang gt with 37000 original miles and two owners, it has a manual tranny, but one owner was a race car driver (actual mustang not used) and the second is a 22 year old college student who has had it for about a year but wanted a cobra and found this car but found a cobra about 8 months later and needs to sell this one, he is wanting $8000 for it, is that too much? i was wondering if these cars can take abuse and not break, they have all of the maintence records and it looks like it has been taken very well care of, i took it for a test drive and it ran beautifully, it is completely stock except for flowmasters and eiback springs, and a random question...did the 2000 mustangs come in a color called performance red which looks orange? thanks for enduring this long thread.

I say 6 Grand tops.

As for the color, my wife's brother has a 2001 GT that is the color that you are talking about. It's really nice.

When you say abuse, well no car can take too much abuse. It's a good sign that they have all the maintenance records.

Good luck on the purchase.

8 is a bit much for a stocker. Try to talk your way into the 6850-7200 range. It's very rare to find someone that has all the records like in this case. Sounds like a great find.
