new to engine building where to start?

Default new to engine building where to start?

whats up guys. so this summer im going to be getting my enlistment bonus and ill have about 10 grand burning a hole in my pocket. so iv always wanted to supercharge my car but as i get older and wiser i know if i ever want to see some REAL numbers i got to build the engine. the thing is i have no clue where to start that. whats the 101 of engine building? thanks for the info guys.

Forge your bottom end with quality parts and your shortblock will be able to take pretty much anything you can throw at it.

There's plenty of companies that you can buy a shortblock off of rather than spending about the same money on your own. Between the time and cost of buying the internals, having a machine shop clean up and blueprint your block, and putting everything together, you might as well go to Livernois or MMR and have them send you one of there's. Also MMR has rebuilt TKO trannies that, depending on the model you get, will take up to 900HP I believe.
