Didn't you just say in another thread how impossible 400hp is and how you wouldn't ever try it?

Best of luck with 400rwhp. I hope you get there, but until you or someone else does, I'm not believing a word of it.

i said it would be almost impossible, but I am friends with the guys at MD and they may have a few tricks up their sleeves to allow me to hit 400. I'd be happy with 350 but 400 would be better

Hmm Im all for N/A, a PI swap would definatly be my starting point, after doing it myself the car drives much better then when it was non PI, not just because of the power gains, but the curve is a lot nicer, more down low and it doesn't top out like it used to.

a port n polish pi swap, with a ported bullit intake, full bolt ons(long tubes, mounts, elec wpump pulleys, maf, inj, etc.) tune and some stage 2 cams n springs should get you there, but your gonna have to spin it past 7k. Im not sure what the stock crank can handle, or if a 96 has the improved rods.

If your going to completely rebuild the engine from the ground up, you might have better odds doing a swap, and you might be happier in the end.

but if your all about 4.6 N/A my hats off to ya, and I like your style.

How many CC are the NPI heads?

wait... you want to hit those numbers non pi?

no comment.

now... 350-400 is doable, but its not going to be on that "budget" you mentioned...

imo build a solid n/a car and spray it... low 11s/high 10s here you come.

So you're trying to make 350-400 hp on a budget, while staying N/A AND NPI, and you're using a 4.6 block...?? Is that your goal, like a challange to you or are you just stuck and trying to work with what you got...??

I like the challenge, and I would like to use what I already have so I can stay on a budget and not have to much in a car that people think are worthless.
