Default N/A Engine Build

I decided to hold off on a turbo, or if I ever do forced induction. I am doing it on a budget. I am wanting to bore my stock block .030 over stock. I am thinking about re-using the stock crank and rods, but get new hyperutic or forged pistons. I am wanting to port and polish the stock heads myself, as well as building my own intake out of aluminum. I also plan on putting a set of stage 2 cams from crower or comp. Is it ok to reuse the factory roller rockers with new cams. Engine has 132,000 miles on it currently, and right now i have the car blown apart. I am going to put 36# injectors in it with a fuel rail, and 255lph fuel pump. I am keeping the stock exhaust manifolds. ARP bolt kit. Underdrive pullies are going to be installed, as well as a manual steering conversion and manual brake conversion.

How much power can I make with this set-up N/A? My goal is 300whp on engine with no nitrous or blower.

Car has a 4:10 gear in it as well as a tr-3650 in place of my aode.

Ah, man. I wish I could help you with this, but at least you have a start! I've been trying to look into what parts for an Naturally Aspirated car will give me a good boost in horsepower. I've found a couple of good parts that'll work, but I know there must be more smaller items that can make some big differences. I hope that you get the answer you look for, and I hope I can learn what I should be looking for through this thread.

this winter my car is in a garage for the next 3 weeks and i have access to a lift and a figure i can drop the engine out from under the car, and get it done quicker this way.

Does anyone have any opinions on mahle pistons, and felpro gasket sets for these cars? I used felpro on my 65 GTO, just wondering if they are good quality on the mod motors.

depends on the tune and what all is in and done to your heads... it will have to be trick to get big numbers, so I doubt youll be able to match what alot of the big shops do for porting, but with a sheetmetal intake (provided you know what your doing) you could make well over 300whp, but there is alot of factors.... however, one thing I would never do is buy aftermarket hypereuretic pistons... I know somebody posted that, but I believe thats hogwash... I mean its true they can hold the power, but bust with the slightest detonation at those loads, so just go forged

in my opinion...BIG waste of time and money not building the WHOLE block

wait a little longer till you can afford to do it the right way

does anyone know who might make a stroker kit to turn my 281 cubic inches into 325 cubic inches. I read on alternative auto that their is a stroker kit that can do this, and they showed it was possible to make 300hp on engine

so.....lets say you add that turbo later down the road

your "refreash" build just became a pile of shiat

you do know full bolt on with proper H/C/I and tune you can make around 330rwhp on motor
