Default 4.10 gear questions

I'm looking at Ford Racing 4.10 ring gear and pinion set and had a few questions.

1) How hard is it to install? If not a diy project what is a reasonable price to pay for the installation?

2) How much will it affect my top speed?

3) How much will it throw of my speedometer?

4) And will it be too much for my stock 01 gt?

5) Is Ford Racing the way to go because they are pretty cheap?

I know all these questions have been asked tons of times but I just want to make sure before I drop the 125$ on the brand new set.

+1 on having gears professionally installed.

I have the FRPP 4.10's on my 5-speed and I love the extra torque!

Where are you getting these for 125.00? They may be knock offs. Motive is now making gears for ford racing. You can tell the difference by the part no. If it ends w/ an "M", they are made by motive and are not genuine ford racing gears.

Yea I"m leaning more towards having it installed but my buddy said he can do it. Is there anything else like an install kit I would need or anything like that?

1) not complicated, but still hard to get right - leave it to a pro
2) won't
3) 20 mph
4) no - but if you drive alot highway get a 3.73 - but 4.10 is more fun
5) yes and nothing but imo

Off of Ebay. The guy bought them for his cobra but then came across 4.30 and went with those. They have been sitting in his garage for a year now. Never been installed and still in the box.

Ask him for the p/n. I would make sure they are genuine before I buy.

OK, the link is for FMS gears. Notice the A at the end of the p/n. Those are genuine ford gears. If that A is an M, they are made by motive. Just trying to save you some head ache.

dont run away if there from motive iv never heard anyone having poblems with motive gears unless the install was done wrong but a wrong install with any gears will...be wrong. unless someone on here has heard of a consistent problem with motive i wouldn worry who made them. well unless there like walmart gears lol
