daily driver 350rwhp?
to my surprise my girlfriend decided she wanted her 2004 5 speed to go faster. i have a 90t-bird sc and she really loves the supercharger. right now her car is completely stock and no matter what we do it will remain her daily driver, so it needs to have decent fuel economy and great reliability. after reading hundreds of posts over the last few hours i think im braindead. compared to a t-bird there are thousands of differnt ways to go with this motor and im not very clear on any of them. she has her heart set on a sc setup but i dont know if that is the real direction to go, but who doesnt love a blower. whats the best bang for the buck with 5k to spend and can we get in the 300-350rwhp range with reliability as a daily driver?
so are gears really necessary on a daily driver? i dont expect her to be going to the track anytime soon if ever, i dont know what the stock gears are but i dont know if going over a 3.27 is worth the money and fuel efficiency.
now there are all different sc kits available with low boost, so are these or even a turbo kit worth the money? do they perform reliable enough to be used everyday and which can i bolt on without having to upgrade the rest of the motor? how bigger do i need to go with exhaust and intake if any?
if at all possible i dont want to do anything to the bottom end
now a sc isnt necessary, so would heads and cam be better for the money? at least at that point if she becomes a power junkie then the foundation is built for something more.
the question is on a daily driver what is the best way to go to get into the 300-350rwhp range and can it be done with a budget of $4-6k?

A centrifugal blower like Vortech or Procharger is a perfect choice. They don't make boost until around 3k RPM, so unless she's really laying into it, it'll drive like it always has. The driveability and reliability are largely in the tune.
The bottom end will take between 400-450rwhp, so you're safe. On a 2V car, building heads and cams is not really worth the money.
