Default Head/Cam help

I am looking to adding the stage 2 comp cams and stage 2 patriot heads to my car from AM. I know you need to upgrade the valve springs but should i get the patriot ones or the comp cam ones? Also do I need to upgrade anything else with these heads such as piston or anything? I have the xcal 3 and would ge another tune on it but I'm just wondering if you need to buy anything else with these heads, cams, and springs?

O and it says I need a 2000 or greater stall with these cams since I have an auto, where could I find one at?

Here is the link:

Thanks in advance,
Chris

Are you going to leave it n/a or boost it? If it was me i would put some cams (healthy ones). and change out the springs. Keeping your heads. With all the bolt on with long tube headers with new mid pipe. 2800 on the trans with a manual valve body. This work can be done with out taking the heads out. that will save you 1500 in parts alone. Remember these motors love any kind of boost or spray.

As for stall converters you should call summit racing up and see what they say on stall speed for the car. You should def upgrade springs and retainers. No need to upgrade for heads or pistons unless you want to do it. The car should pick up good 30-40 rwhp with a good tune with just cams.

get the comp cam valve springs, they are matched for their cam. just google search for a torque converter, precision industries, tci, ect. you can contact them to ask what will be the best converter for your application. a well matched converter will definitely help you out. good luck.

Also research lockup vs non lockup and decide what you want.

sounds good i might just do the cams then to save money on the heads, i just figured while everything is apart on top to just do it all but id rather save some money and just get the cams and stall. when i go to AM and buy a cam do i need to buy 2 of them or do they sell them in a pair?

If you are going to buy patriot stage 2 heads they already have upgraded springs.

Go with cushmans for a better deal on heads and cams. Plus he has much better cams.
