03'' cobra S/C swap question
Hey,
I had a quick question about the eaton s/c stock on a 03'' cobra. I know they can be bought for 1grand easy but are a 4v and most people who want them have a 2v GT. My question is, Would this supercharger fit flush on a 2001 Cobra. I know the 03 has a diff tranny of a 6speed but would it still fit? And would it fit clean.
Thanks!

Thats what i thought, the intake manifold is of a different style and the root wouldnt fit. Is there a way around this, like getting 03 manifold or parts to make it work?
I know the eaton is absolute horse crap but im looking for a cheap way around this avoiding dumping 5 grand into a kennebell.

A heaton will be just fine. Yes, they draw a lot of heat. Yes, they are inefficient. However, they make decent power, and sound awesome! You can buy a ported blower, that makes over 500 RWHP, and is more efficient than a normal Heaton, for under 1K. Check out SVTPerformance.com for people selling them.

Yes, there is a way. I can't remember where or who makes it, but a member posted a link in the discussion section to a website that sells a manifold made to fit the Eaton on our 4.6. Granted I think the manifold was $1,000, but I've seen many Eatons online for about $300-400. I have yet to see anyone with this swap. I think it would be extremely economical in terms of horsepower to dollar averaging. Overall I could see someone spending as little as $2000 to get the car working. I saw a Lincoln LS in my home town that had the mod done. Worked awesome. Search around or ask around for the website. I know it's out there.

thanks guys your alot of help! If you could find me that link that would be great. I just thought, instead of spending another 12grand for a terminator, i could just do this conversion. After all, a KB cost around 7grand and my GT would run me 5g's so a 2k S/C would be a bang for the buck.

more research in this, im learning that the secondary work for an inefficent blower is pointless and better off getting whipple or KB. An interesting thing i found was a conversion heaton 4v to a 2v kit for a GT. This just makes me ask, Is it really worth the fustration of doing this conversion or just spend 5grand and go big (not everyone has that much laying around though lol)
