Starting engine after changing oil

i always pre-fill the filter but the whole priming the engine thing doesn't make sense to me, because it's not like everything is nearly bone dry like with a new motor

You got issues if you hear any kind of clanking going when you start it at after a oil change.

100's of oil changes in over 20 years and I have never heard a clanking in any engine I changed oil in.
