Vortech Blowoff/bypass

i was looking to get a vortech kit for my 02 gt and iv been looking into getin a blowoff for it or jst do something to make the whooosh or flutter or w/e very loud and noticable like to really turn some heads. Now iv been searching and have read several times that u have to run a blow thru set up to run a blowoff now y exactly is that wat s goes bad with running a blowoff with the regular setup there is a video on you tube of a stang with a blowoff that seems to be running fine with out a blow thru so like yae could i get some help in clearing this up and some suggetions on how to make it loud for the least amount of dough? thanks

You'd need to convert the whole system. Not worth it if you still in stock trim. Once you get into higher boost levels then worry about the woosh. Or buy a procharger.

Both systems, draw through and blow through, use a bypass type system. The reason you have to convert to a blow through system with a 'blow off valve' which vents to atmosphere (the cool whoosh sound) is because if you didn't you would be venting metered air. If you don't re-circulate the air the mass air meter needs to be after the valve so it can accurately calculate the air entering the engine.

If you want a aftermarket valve that does not have the evil rubber diaphram inside that is prone to cracking and ripping, Check out Forge Motorsport or Greddy. Both will give you more sound when discharging back into the system. You dont need it to vent to the atmosphere to be loud, trust me. If you go with the forge unit (ive used their products on all my VW's) It is basically plug and play. hardly ever has to be re-greased(maybe once a year) and you can reuse it when you go crazy with boost. Just have to buy the spring tuning kit.

I looked up this Forge Motorsport hybrid BOV and now I'm just straight confused... how does this thing re-circulate and vent to atmosphere at the same time with out effecting the amount of metered air?

i have a cheap ebay obx piston style blow off valve, works great, holds boost and blows off when you let off the gas, think it costs 80 bux and sounds just as good if not better than some of the more expensive brands. i think its a turbosmart type h knockoff.
