one of my friends who kind of thinks he knows it all said that in 98 ford change the poor designed heads but didn't get the pi heads is this true i think hes lying, because both of my friends think i should of got this certain 98 gt instead of my 2000 because it had a few less miles

Nope, the 96-98 heads are the same. the 99+ heads are all the same (as far as flow goes).
