Get a aluminum one.. The problem is its plastic and it can't handle all that pressure.. If you had a supercharger it would shatter..

It sounds like you got the money so just get a new manifold. Your pushing close to 400hp at the crank right?

Ford has announced that a production problem has prohibited the '99 Cobra from making the full advertised (as designed) HP and torque. The recall program announced by Ford has become popularly known as "the fix". It is also popularly misunderstood by certain uninformed quarters.

The recall was installed in "beta" form to about 100 cars in the late fall of 1999. This early program was a milestone designed to test the manufacturing and distribution programs created for the program by SVT. Once tested (and verified), the recall program is set to begin in late November and early December 1999. It is anticipated that, given customer's schedules and the weather in the northern areas of the country, it may take until the spring of 2000 to update all the cars.

The recall program brings the cars up to 2000-spec level (all 2000s will have the same exact parts). What's being updated?

the lower intake manifold (new and Extrude-Honed, not remanufactured)

the exhaust behind the converters ("cat-back"). Now mandrel bent!

the engine calibration - via a reflash of the Powertrain Control Module (not a PCM replacement)

Not even close buddy......

They had runner issues on the back 2 cylinders that caused intake flow issues, as well as, exhaust piping issues. SVT replaced the intake and exhaust to correct the issue.

The plastic manifold is more then capable of handling the pressure of forced induction to a limit, which would not be commonly met on a street driven car, and by the point the manifold would be typically be custom sheet metal intake.

The intake won't shatter in a street blown application....

Where do you guys get this stuff......

Rumours abound...amazing

The plastic intake won't shatter. The problem is a constant high temperature exposure with a mix of cool air running through the intake over XXXXXX miles. This will finally yield a crack or fracture in the plastic.
