Default squeakin'?

hey everybody, i currently own a 1998 mustang gt (5 spd), great condition, quite a few miles on it, just over 170,000 but still runs like a champ. I am only having two problems, which may not even qualify as problems to you, but i've become a neatfreak kinda guy so heres whats up. my biggest issue is when the car is just sitting in neutral, there is a squeaking sound, which really sounds like the throwout bearing, but i really cant be too sure, when i get a chance i will try to record it. Next, whenever i get on it in 3rd gear and up, a little over 3K rpm, right on the other side of the firewall from the dash, theres is a very quick rattling sound, i have people listen to it but no one knows. i would appreciate any ideas you guys have, i know you can help, thanks!

T/O bearing sounds like a chirping, does it go away when you push in the clutch? could be your idler pulley with that many miles or just the belt needs replacing

yes, it goes away when i push in the clutch, do you think the chirping has anything to do with the rattling when i get on it?

The squeaking definitely sounds like the TOB. Mine was doing the same thing and after I replaced the TOB and the pilot bushing the sound went away.
About the rattling sound, what kind of exhaust do you have? It could be the drone resonating through the car causing that rattle from the dash area.

It is certainly a possibility that the rattle is just drone from those super 44's which are known to drone just about worse than any other muffler.

so what would be the best solution for the muffler problem, I've been thinking about getting a full exhaust on it
