Door Actuator replacement Msutang GT 2000

Others recently indicated in various posts that they are having issues which are symptomatic of a door actuator failure.
Symptoms are doors lock and will not unlock or vice versa...
...one door will lock and unlock but the other will not lock or unlock
Sometimes you get movement in one direction or another but never enough to complete the lock or unlock function.
This is pretty easy...
The pics below I hope aid you in the process:
Remove the three screws holding the lock in place
This is what we are attempting to extract and then disassemble and reassemble using the replacement actuator
just another look behind the door
unplug the 2 plugs
disconnect the push pull rod
after disconnecting the rear rod from the top which is done by twisting the connecting rod
...then the rod closest to you needs to be disconnected
Here you can see that it pivots on the left of the yellow clip and you can also see it was unclipped from the white plastic retainer...
Now we can take a look at the actuator after extraction...
...and it does not have to be disconnected from the lever-to-lock cable
...adn the other side...
To remove use a flathead screwdrive to lift the retaining spring plastic clip
...you may have to use 2 screwdrivers...
...the 2nd to pry the actuator away from the door lock
Now that it is removed you can see the 2 pieces below
...incidentally, remove the part laterally out of the metal structure and then pivot the part of the actuator that is farthest from the 2 recepticles...
...why? because the rear recepticle is a bit of an obstruction if you try to continue the lateral movement...
So move laterally to the recepticle and then pivot
you can see the pin that is actuated to lock and unlock...
The old on the left is going to be different in design from the new on the right...
...the redesign eliminates the issue of recepticle being an obstruction
and the other side of the actuator reveals differences with the new on the right...
The actuator should then be laterally pressed back onto the lock bracket
...then the entire apparatus is reinstalled.

I recently got a smoking hot deal on a remote starter/keyless entry. This has prompted me to order new actuators, as almost no action is going on with my power locks. This thread is going to help a ton when the parts come in, thanks!
