engine hesitation, ignition/COP problems?
 

How's it going everyone? I haven't been on the forums in a while. This morning around 7:30 I started up the car to go to work and I was cruising down the highway, everything running smooth and normal, then my "Service Engine Soon" light started to flash irregularly (which I haven't seen before) for about 10 seconds then went off. The light is still off, but my engine seems to hesitate and miss under pretty moderate acceleration. Its especially noticeable in 4th and 5th gear when I'm on the highway going about 60 mph, then I step on it a little harder. I feel some shaking and my shifter will shake a little. Its missing all over the place though. Can someone help me diagnose this? Or tell me what I can do to diagnose this? I'm thinking it might be a bad coil pack. I'm very unfamiliar with non-sparkplug systems. Can someone educate on everything they know about COP systems perhaps with a picture to tell me which ones are COP's and which are injectors. Theres a lot going on under the hood. Thank you very much.

My car was doing the exact same thing last week and it was a bad COP

I am almost 90% sure you have a bad COP. Do some research to find out what they look like. They are held on by one bolt, I say you find out what code your throwing. The code will tell you which cylinder is misfiring (your lucky your even throwing a code). Pull out the COP from that cylinder (it takes less then a minute), replace it, and your good to go. I m talking from experience, and the symptoms your describing are exactly what I had. Good luck.

I ended up getting it diagnosed and it was cylinder #5 COP. Got it replaced and I'm good to go. Thanks.

Are you supposed to change the spark plugs just the same frequency as you would in a regular sparkplug engine (i.e. one without COP's)?
