Question MAF..Do i Need one?

I currently got rid of my BBK CAI and purchased a JLT Short Ram Intake. When I purchased the intake one of my classmates stated that he knew everything about cars and to trust him with everything he said about them. Curious, do I need a new MAF...here is the one i was looking at http://www.americanmuscle.com/sct-ba-2600-maf.html . He said that I needed one and that if i didnt i was cheating my car out of horsepower. Im curious and i wanted your guys is opinions first. I have some other mods that i just bought too if that makes a difference. (signiture)

Thanks again

Your friend know nothing about cars. You do not need a MAF. When you slap a supercharger on there then you need a new maf.
